Daniel Hanson- About Me

I am a 27-year-old, Pittsburgh-based digital marketing strategist, copywriter, and communications consultant seeking a career in non-profit or marketing oriented roles.

Following my time at Central Catholic High School, I attended the College of Wooster for undergraduate studies, receiving a 3.8 GPA in my major of History, and engaging in a wide range of academic and extracurricular challenges. My most formative experience at Wooster was my time as a section editor of the campus newspaper, the Wooster Voice.

After graduating in 2012, I enrolled in Duquesne University's Journalism and Media Arts graduate program, pursuing an MS in the focus of New Media Management. This unique graduate program focused on a wide range of media- and marketing-related skills, including Public Relations, marketing campaign management, graphic design, web design, social media, and content management, with a focus on the core field of journalism. Finishing my studies in 2015 with a 3.8 GPA, I developed skills and experience during the program that distinguish me from most people in the fields of advertising, public relations, and marketing.

While at Duquesne, I began pursuing freelance work in social media, graphic design, and web development, putting my studies of audience research, copywriting, HTML, and design to the test. Since 2013, I have been pursued freelance work as well as contract positions in data management (with Edison Learning) and copywriting (with Dick's Sporting Goods). This experience has given me a unique perspective on project management in which multiple faces of a project are tackled at once, client goals shape every step in the process, and audience research and reporting is regularly integrated into ongoing efforts.

This experience has shaped me into a goal-oriented multi-tasker who excels at working independently and with clients. While I am always available for further freelance work, I am most interested in beginning a career in the non-profit or marketing sectors. Don't hesitate to contact me and learn what I can do for your firm as an employee or contractor.
